Fan Speed Quick Question

I just bought a XFX 6800GS PCI-E XXX Edition and the fan is loud. Is there any way to lower the speed of the fan? Can I plug the video card fan into the mobo and use speedfan or some other program? Please help asap.

u can use most progs to do this or use this script:

but u should remember that if u lower the fan speed, the card will heat more. also its not necissarily the speed of the fan but the actual fan itself. it will also void the warranty

of course...sometimes even just breaking a seal on the PSU case will void the warrenty even u arent doin anything to it. only the original state will usually supported by their warrenty. so usually ANY mod will void warrenty. unless its like evga GPU that supports end user overclocking.
