fixed computer?

i was installing ethernet yesterday, and today i organized the cords, tucked them inside the wall divider (seperates the floor from the wall), and installed a new power bar.

I resetted the power bar (with all the cords plugged in, monitor/speakers/CPU) and i heard the computer make weird electrical noises.

I turn on the PC, and its quiet...quieter than i've ever seen it!

What did the electricity do? Make the computer quiet??

Maybe it fried the fan? Better check and make sure all the fans inside it are running, or any other moving parts for that matter.
Better safe than sorry I guess.

i guess it magically made the PSU better...

I don't know if a good thing actually happened, but for the time being, that's pretty neat.

I had a similar problem last year when I installed a dvd player, it turns out one of the cables got jammed in the heatsink and the computer almost exploded.......well not really but ya it came close

yes, that could have been the problem.

It sounded like cables were rubbing against the case of the PC, which made noise...
