I need something cheap and easy to cool down my pc...

I have 5 case fans, and it still gets too hot at times...

I don't want the trouble or expence of liquid cooling...

so....

are there any other solutions?

Just getting some AS5 will do work wonders, but you will also have to get some Isopropyl/90%+ alcohol (Navy rum*? to have some fun after.)

*Drink in moderation.

AS5? - http://www.arcticsilver.com/as5.htm

it's not my cpu, it's the entire thing... the heat from the hard drives, the psu, ram, 6600gt ect...

I wonder if there is a cooling solution for the entire thing...

perhaps I should consider a new case... (I'd have to change my avatar)

for now I'm only considering a cooling solution though...

edit:my cables are very well managed and out of the way

How many hdd do you have? (Your sig is too slow.)

I would get a new case and get some hdd coolers for them if you have quite a few.

What is your case (brand, type) now? What kind of temps are we talking about? What is your case fan setup, intake vs exhaust? What type of climate is your computer in? Upstairs, downstairs? It seems with a five fan setup, temps shouldn't be to much of an issue.

current stuff and temps

CPU Type - AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2.2GHz (15 x 147) 3200+
Mainboard - Syntax SV266AD (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 2 DIMM, Audio, Lan)
Chipset - VIA VT8366A Apollo KT266A
Video Adapter (1) - e-VGA Nvidia e-Geforce 6600 GT (128 MB)
Video Adapter (2) - XFX Nvidia Geforce4 MX 4000 (64 MB)
Audio Adapter - VIA AC'97 Enhanced Audio Controller
Memory - 640 MB (PC2300 DDR SDRAM)
HD (1) - 40 GB, 5400 RPM, Ultra-ATA/100
HD (2) - 30 GB, 4500 RPM, Ultra-ATA/66
DVD - CD/DVDW TS-H542A (12x/4x/8x)
CD - CD-RW GCE-8520B (52x/24x/52x)
and five fans running...

mainboard - 30C
cpu - 51C (too hot)
aux - veries to much... but about 64C

over the last few weeks it's been getting hotter... and I'd like to find a solution...

(eventually I'll just build a new one... for now I can't afford it and I need to keep this one running)

edit: and my case

http://www.powmax.com/pics/gamer/8869silver.htm

I used to have temps around 30 for my cpu... but like I said...

(and I keep it clean)

Is that a generic case? The CPU gives out quite alot of jewels of heat, I think it could be solved by re applying thermal compound still, and maybe a blow hole on the top.

How hot is your room?

my room at home is around 55-60F (I prefer the cold)

so I don't have nearly as many problems there...

but I take my pc to school, where it remains most of the day... It's about 75-80F here...

i think ur PWMIC area and chipset is getting hot. PWMIC area is usually have passive heatsink on it. it manages all the power goes into ur mobo. just get a fan and blow right on it. itll help keep the temp down 5-10c. my PWMIC temp was like 60-65c before but i put 120mm fan right next to it blowing air. and its about 50c now. (still hot but as long as i keep it under 70c or mb 65c, its fine.)
