You could get all ths for $200, but it would be a really low end gaming comp if you add a good videocard to it.

CPU: AMD Sempron 64 2800+......................$75
Mobo:Gigabyte s754 mobo..........................$43
CD Drive:Sony Cd Burner.............................$21
Case:Rosewill Value....................................$24
Keyboard:Logitech Internet Pro..................$10
Mouse:Logitech Premium Optical.................$10
Speakers:Logitech S-100.............................$7 (I own these speakers)
Fans: Masscool fans x2.................................$5

total:$195. Just add a good videocard to it and it will play some good games at decent settings.

no sorry it doesn't include shipping. but if he already has a mouse, keyboard, and speakers and fans. Then he can take that stuff out.

since he already has a hard drive and 1 gig of ram, the main thing he need sis just a cpu and mobo and a case. Those are the main three. Then a cd drive so you can install windows. What are all the parts you have now? Do you have a case or a cd rom?

Yes, you can get a decent computer for 200.00!
Have a look here http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4714029?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

for $199.99. All you need is a monitor and up the RAM a little and vid card but for the base system, it will do most tasks you throw at it except for gaming but I do advise you to wipe the hard drive and get that linspire crap out and put in Windows XP.

first of all, that computer is ****. did u see the processor? He is better off going with what i told him to get. Don't get that computer. There is so many better options.

I am trying to help the guy out, he only has 200.00 to spend so there are NOT that many options out there for him. Sure, maybe your configuration is better but what if he can't put it together and maybe he doesn't have the extra cash to pay a tech to assemble it for him?
Or maybe he doesn't have a credit card to order online etc. It's better to have more than 1 to choose from if you are strapped on cash.

Let him be the judge on what system he wants to get - it's his money [Snipped]

$177 for the case, PSU, mobo, and CPU. Toss in your hard drive and ram, and you have a computer with onboard graphics and sound.

You'll still need an OS, though.
