Hi, recently when playing Counter Strike 1.6 I have been jumping aroudn like mad, as in when several players are on the screen or a big fire fight is going on or w/e things will 'jump' around, other people comment on it also, but alas my ping is fine and ive pretty much ruled out a bandwidth problem.

Now this leads me to think 'whats changed since CS was running perfectly?' hmm now one think I have noticed is, when windows XP loads up, a blue screen says:

"Checking file system on C://
The type of of file system is NTFS
Can not open volume for direct access"

Umm is this linked at all?

and does anyone have any idea what good be causing this 'jumpy' play? My internet speed is running nicely at 100kb :-/

I have defraged my harddrive twice, its fairly clean and nowhere near full. I'm spyware and virus free and have a graphics card that is more than capable of handling CS (Geforce FX 5200).

I have a 1.6 GHZ AMD with 352 of RAM (did have 256 added some but it made no difference)

Would be extreamly greatfull for any ideas/adice as I have been trying to fix it for some time now with no luck whatso ever. I have tried chnaging CS res to very low, with a config designed for slow comps but again no difference.

I'd say it's your system specs which are slowing down your system and making it "jump" for playing CS.

*Bump*

Please, somone MUST know somthing :-(

I would be very thankfull.

PS: If I havnt given enough info or you don't understand what ice written please point this out to me.

" CS takes lots of resources thats my $0.02"

Yeah but my computer handled source before I got XP , 1.6 was and should still now be a breeze.
