Why wont my monitor power up???

I found a Sony CPD-L150 (15" LCD monitor). When I plug the power cord in, the ac adaptor's green light lights up, but when I push the power button on the screen nothing happens. Could it be the ac adaptor or the actual monitor. Should I just junk it?? Thanks

Most likely its the monitor itself. It could of taken a voltage hike.
