Gateway queston

my dad had a fairly old gateway that had a bunch of viruses and stuff. Now that i reformatted it everything is good i just have one question...i know that on dell computers the PSU is only compatible w/ dell mobo's or something like that but are gateway's the same?

post the specs and model of the gateway. It depends on when it was made. I've worked with old gateways that have the same kinds of power hookups and whatnot.

Look at the power connector to see if its the standard ATX 20-pin (or 24-pin)

well i thought that dell computers had a standard 20 or 24 pin connector...but they were wired in such a way that they only worked w/ dell products
