- Friend uses wireless at home
- Friend comes to my house and tries to use internet (Cable) but it goes VERY VERY slow
- Friend reinstalls network device (Nvidia Nforce Networking Controller [Integrated]) with default drivers; problem still persists
- Friend finds the drivers for his Ethernet port at Nvidia website; installs; internet is now disabled
- Friend tries to uninstall network device, automatically restarts computer
- Tries to reinstall / update drivers, it automatically restarts the computer on the spot, no warning.

Now it said windows must be activated cause hardware has changed, and we still have no internet. Any ideas?

if you install the drivers and after the install it restarts the computer with out shuting it down, i have found that this is because you are installing the incorrect drivers. It happened to me two days ago when trying to install some old crappy digital camera. if you try one set of drivers and it doesnt work multiple times, look around for drivers else where.

what is the exact nic it has
is it a desktop, laptop
what motherboard does it have if its a desktop

possible driver:

Nope, it doesn't restart only when we try to reinstall drivers, but when we try to disable / uninstall the card too. So its hard to really do anything, although I'm glad to rather have it stuck ENABLED rather than DISABLED.

The NIC is integrated on the motherboard, which is a LANPARTY NF3, is Nvidia MCP Networking Controller. Kinda stuck :(

Edit: The weird thing is, it was working last night, we shut the computer down, turn it on this morning and no internet.
