I agree, tell him to buy a new pc and ask him what his budget is. Most likely (guessing here) he probably won't want to build his computer but it'll greatly benefit him if he does.

Then I'm guessing he didn't get it all too long ago? Definetly get a new PC, that junk can't even be upgraded because all the parts especially the mobo and cpu are outdated. It'd be hard to imagine what limitations you'd have on a computer like that in todays world if any.

My suggestion; tell your friend to get his $50 back and use that money to save up for a brand new PC.
