Hello to all,

I wanted to know if there is a way to create a Symantec Ghost Bootable CD-R that will map my network drives.

I can only create one that boots to a local cd-rw unit . No good I'm afraid.

I want to stop using the floppy disk method.

It would be nice to get all my nic drivers, ghost app's all on one CD-R instead.

Is there a way ?

thanks

if you can get the drive mapping to work on the old floppy method you use, you can use a cd burning software like nero to make a bootable CD. it will ask for a floppy to create the boot image from. use a cd-rw to test making this. i went through tons of coasters figuring out which options to use. read the software manual for boot CD

To map a network drive you have to use the "net" commands in the autoexec.bat file. You have to edit this BEFORE you create your CD. As we all know... CD are basically Read Only.

Once you have your drives mapped on your floppy... creat the bootable cd.

to add to HoLoCroN's advice, the reason isn't because it's read only. its because when making a boot CD the boot sector (or whatever it is called) cannot be modified. you can keep adding files to your boot CD using the multisession option though.
