CPU temp really really high!

ok, so i downlaoded the program SiSoftware Sandra. I do a mainbaord scan and i look at the temps.

System specs:
AMD x2 4400+
7800GT
Gigabyte ga-k8n-sli
420 watt PSU


My Baord temp is at 26C, the CPU 1 is at 27C and the CPU 2 temp at a whopping 69C????? I dont know whats wrong but my computer runs fine. In the task manager it says i'm using both cores. I dont know what to do! plz help!

Try another program like speedfan and see if it is just the software not picking up dual core right.

you're right, that is crazy. don't do this because there is a good chance you will get condensation on your computer which will fuxor everything. if those readings are accurate you should RMA the cpu because that is faulty!!!

well, i touch the heatsink and its not hot at all, which is wierd. I'm goign to try to put thermal greese on instead of that pad that it came with

That's a good first step. If it's not hot, I think you may be getting a bad sensor reading

at 69 degrees celsius you should be able to feel warm to hot air coming from the fan. if the heatsink is reasonably cool to the touch i would say faulty sensor/software.
