Don't know which one to get from the 7800GTs. They're all under $400 Canadian, and they all seem to have pretty much the same clock speeds. Can anybody tell me which one to get and for what reason? I don't care for company preference, like BFG, eVGA and all. Here are the three cards:

As for the Opteron and X2, I'm stuck between getting an Opteron 165 Dual Core or the Athlon 64 X2 3800. They are both in the same price range. Looking for the one with better overclockability and best for gaming.

i would just go for a 6800gt and skipp the 7800 gt for right now price drops are around the corner and you would be fine with a 6800gt

i know the price drops are around the corner, especially now with DX10 coming out soon, these DX9 cards are really gonna drop in price. I'm building the computer and then starting the process of saving up for it, by the time i save up the money, it'll be much cheaper

well that probably won't happen for near close to a year for when dx10 comes out and the major price drops.

Go for the Opteron 165. You can OC the heck out of that thing and have performance similar to an Athlon X2 4800+ or greater. Tough call on the 7800GT....it is a great card now, but games are going to be advancing so much within the next 6 months that I doubt the 7800GT will last long if you care about max or near max settings. I would just get the 6800GS or even 6600GT in waiting for the 7900 series or the G80.

P.S. There will be those that come here and say that the 7800GT will be able to max out any game for a couple of years, but if you look at the facts and the benchmarks with current, less demanding games, you will see thats not the case.
