i just got a new case for my comp.
after i swapped the mobo and everything over i turn it on. but there's no sound. im positive it isnt the speakers. and all my software and drivers i think are up to date. but im not sure if i missed a power plug or somthing.. is there some sort of extra power that goes into the mobo for this?

Just changing the case should not affect the 'external ' audio to your speakers!
It would affect your case speaker, if you didn't connect those wires correctly!
Do you mean your 'external' rear audio output??

no i think i may have forgotten to maybe plug in a wire or power cord to the mobo which is doing it. but also someone said i should just get a sound card which will give me better sound and it will also fix this problem

Getting a new Sound card has nothing to do with the problem!
If your 'external' audio worked before, it has nothing to do with mobo power connections.
Do you want help or not?

ok i just tried another thing if this helps you.

i plugged in the garbage speakers that came with the comp and they get nothing but static.

if that helps you at all

i ran through windows troubleshooter. and the last two seemed to stand out

they said somthing about a BIOS chip which could be the problem

and then also that the chip might be plug and play and not recognized.

i ruled the second one out after runing through the add hardware

so could this chip thing be the problem?

erm nevermind i dont know what im talking about. i have no idea
what this could be going to sleep now ill check back in the morning
