max p4 temp

hey, i just built a new rig. my case has a thermometer on it and i put the sensor between the heatsink and the processor. the reading is 108 degrees F. right now my comp is formatting the hdd getting ready to install windows xp. is that temperature too high/low/normal?

i appreciate the help. i'm so new at this :-/

Max. range is 66-78ºC depending on the core and model.

108ºF is between 42-43ºC, so I would say it would be normal operating temperature.

My Pentium-M 1.4 is reading a constant 120 right now (although I don't know how accurate that reading is) with the fan off so I think you're OK.
