System shuts down when booting windows...

If you have 2 sticks of ram, take one out and run it and if the problem still happens, replace it with the other stick
 
hmm i tried it with one stick... ill try it with the other then... post the results in a bit
 
DUDE YOUR A GOD!!! It works atm... weird that ram would do that though ._. ... hmm this beats the **** outta taking it to a repair place for a hundred bucks!!! OMG dude you rox!! ive been out of my comp for almost a week now.. been using sh*tty laptop all week.. OMG u rox X 100!! wewtzors
 
turns out it wasnt the ram but the ram slot on the board... my comp works now!!! phew dude.. =DD

It turns out after a bit of consideration, i accidently placed my hand on my heatsink... guess what? it was LOOSE!! Im running a pentium rig.. if i read somewhere correctly, when the heatsink is removed from the pentium, it shuts off to prevent damage! so on booting windows it shut it self off to prevent damage.. wow.. couldnt believe i overlooked that!
