I have a problem with my computer. Everytime I turn it off nothing gets saved, for example none of my word files get saved and music. Is this problem a result of my hardware overheating (I leave my computer on for long periods of time). If this is a hardware problem what particular piece of hardware do I have to replace? Any solutions?

Well Ive never heard of such a thing have you tried to Google some queries to see if anyone else has had a problem like that.

No, it is on the computer's harddrive. And yes I tried to google it, but I couldn't find anything, maybe I didn't look hard enough. I'll keep searching. Maybe the problem could be the harddrive?
