i think i need a new heatsink/fan

hi pep it doesnt happen all the time it happens occasionally what happens is my cpu fan is making a **** of a racket ive opened it up and no wires etc are in the way of the blades and still its making **** of a noise you guys think i should get a better cpu fan or leave it

There could be a build up of dust preventing the fan from moving freely. If there is nothing blocking it, it sounds like it's going to die soon.

make sure you have a good connection to your power on the motherboard. If it is already a good connection, try switching it to another power port on the motherboard that is available and see if it's still happening. My ideas aren't likely to help much, because it does sound like it's about to go.

I would recommend the Thermaltake Big Typhoon. very quiet, and should also drop the temperatures considerably

Yea you should probably get a new fan it sounds like the bearings are worn out
