first time building a pc. need some advice.

ok. let me start off by saying this is my first pc that im going to build... second im just using this pc for my room so no gaming and what not will be used... just need it for a basic, cheap solution for serfing the web and so on... i got a list of parts and im on like a 400 dollar budget.(i told you i need a cheap solution lol).. i got a list of parts off newegg and i just need your advice wether everything will work or if there are better solutions... thanks. heres the parts.

if ur gonan be surfing the web, save bucks and get a mobo with onboard video.

are u gonna be downloading stuff? cuz then that hd is good for u.

u could also go for SATA, since it's faster, but I'm to lazy to check if the mobo's compatible (hope that's not a stupid comment). THere's also cheaper, larger SATA hds.

As for the case, It's pretty cool! But there's probably better...

once u cut all that out, you could probably get a bigger harddrive, a better case, or a better processor. Good luck!

I noticed that you chose a Socket 754, but that motherboard is a Socket A 462.

thanks for the advice.... ill look for a new case... and also a hdd... on the processor... is the 1 i chose bad or something? like i said. everything is just basic here... and yes i will prolly store some music and what not on here...


EDIT: guess we posted at the same time haha... so your saying that processor wont work with that mobo.... is there anyway some1 could put together a good processor and mobo for around that same price range? thanks alot in advance.
