new RAM and HDD

hi..
will my drive just died on me after 2 months of use and now iam going to return it for warranty , so i decieded to get a new one while i get this one back , so i was wondering if you can reccomend a good sata drive becouse i heard sata drive are faster than ata drives? anything around 120-250 GIGS would be cool....,but would my old drive (ultra ata)work with an sata drive?
iam also i need of a good ram ... i am going to OC my opteron 170 and i dont think my 1GIG valueselect ram would work , so if you think of any let me know....

You can overclock the the CPU but you'll have to play with the divider. Value ram doesn't go very far.
