DVI and VGA question

I've heard that DVI gives better quality than VGA, but my monitor uses a regular VGA plug. If I use the converter that came with my video card will i get VGA quality or do I need a monitor that uses DVI as default? My monitor works with the converter and I have* noticed the screen get a little brighter.

it should be fine with the adapter. the difference between vga and dvi is dvi is digital.

in my humble opinion, you're not going to see a drastic difference in picture quality. I can't see the difference, but that's just me

although theoretically using DVI gives you a slightly and i mean VERY slightly better response time due to the fact the video signal doesn't have to go through a RAMDAC
