thumbdrive dying?!

hello, pls help me with this.
i got problem with my thumbdrive. when i pluged in, the computer can detect but the problem is that i can't access it. error msg say that i need to format it but when i click ok, another error say cannot format, window cannot complete the formating process...

i later check with chkdsk, it say the type of file is 'RAW'. cannot also format it thru Ms.DOS, headache...

pls help, what is this RAW type of file??

RAW basically means there is no Filesystem present on the drive.

I would try it in another computer, and if that is doing the same thing throw it away and buy a new one.

ditto. RAW means it has been partitioned but not formatted. so as suggested try it on another comp and if it doesn't work the only logical conclusion is your flash drive is a paperweight.
