I was going to get the EVGA 7800gtx from newegg for $459 but ZipZoomFly has an EVGA 6800gt 512mb for $399. Which of these cards would be the better choice? Whats the big difference between the 7800gt and the 7800gtx?
Thanks Guys!

i dont think the 6800 gt can make good use of the 512mb and prob doesnt perform much better than 256mb version so your paying alot extra for something that wont increase performance significantly.

The_tobes99 card is prob a good choice.
the technology of the 7800 is going to help performance better than 512mb with a 6800.

So the gt is $300 and the slightly faster gtx is $450. Why the big difference in price then? I've got the money for either and just want to make sure that I'm not cutting myself short on performance.
Thanks for the replys.

get the 7800GTX 512mb :) that will be the best.....um...but if i was you i would just hold out till the new nvidia g80 comes out :)

If I got 2 of the 7800gt's and ran them in SLI mode would there be any big benefit from doing so? Or should I just stick with one 7800gtx?
Thanks

Stick with the single better cards, alot better price:performance.

I really think you should wait, as I was going to skip this generation until my 6800 over heated, so I replaced it with a 7800gt, and it plays anything I through at it at highest settings. Either get a 7900 or see whats happening about the 7900. The X1900xtx is also a great card.

go with 2 6800 gs's, you'll get performance that can match, and sometimes do better than the 7800 gtx, for 50 bucks less... thats just my 2 cents..
