processor compatible?

I am wondering if a P4 3.2GHz w/HT will be compatible with my computer. My computer originally came with a P4 1.8GHzm and I wanted to upgrade it.

You need to determine what knind of board you have, some of those old P4 boards don't support cpu's that high. Find out the model of the board and let us know, or look for the manual on the manufactureres website.

If your machine had a 1.8ghz processor, odds are it does not support HT or 800FSB.

Do you know what the North Bridge Chipset is? Is it 845D?

It says Chipset - Intel i845D, and how do I flash the BIOS, and when will I know I have to

The manual says it supports 400MHz FSB. So i dont think flashing the bios will help, but maybe i'm wrong.
