1. What if have.....

Emachines T2542
2.5GHz
40g hard drive and 80g
I think i have a Radeon 9250 but im not sure
512 memory

2. What i do.....

I play games mostly.... Fps, rpg the likes
I also make movies with Adobe Premiere Pro
I get on Internet...we got highspeed
thats all

3. What im tired of.....

When ever i play games i have to set almost all settings to minimum.... the best resolution i can get right now is 1024x760 (i think thats it) and dislike games going so slow... or with bad graphics...I cant run some games my computer wont let me call of duty 2... doom 3 and it messed up with i played the Time shift Computer.

4. What i want.....

I really want to get a custom computer...i dont need it to look pretty like alienware...it can be a white box... but i want it to be good. i will sell my stuff and will have around 1500 dollers to spend(i can go alittle higher but 2000 would be a little too much).... i already got screen and speakers and keyboard and mouse... I want to be able to play games at good graphics settings and play them well. I usually only have 2-3 games at a time loaded up and Adobe Premiere....thats it so i basically want the best gaming computer i can get for that cash.

5. What i know.....

Basically nothing about buying or building a computer....now get me on the computer and i can do most everything and my moms a computer programer so no worries about that.

6. What i need from you.....

Well I guess you already know what i want but i just want you to tell me what i should get for a around 1500-1800 for best gaming experince. I dont need any flashy lights or pretty cases, no brand names are needed either just the best price.

7. Finally Thanks.....

Any help would be greatly appriciated. I dont know much but will take yalls opinions open armed. I will be watching this closly if yall have any advice or need more information.

Thanks all

How much more money are you going to spend for your computer. Whats your budget?

Wow are you dumb? He said it about 10 times.

Now back to the topic.

Since you dont really multi task you probaly wouldn't need a dual core processor. I'd get this AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16819103529 $334

For a video card if you can wait till march 9 and get a Nvidia Geforce 7900 for $600-$800 I'd do that. If you cant wait then pick up a SAPPHIRE 100149 Radeon X1900XT
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102003 $519

You're gonna need 2 gigs of RAM
CORSAIR ValueSelect 2GB (2 x 1GB)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145579 $160

ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813131569 $87

If you want a superfast hard drive to increase load speeds I'd get a Western Digital Raptor WD1500ADFD 150GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822136012 $286

If you need more space then just get a Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD2500KS 250GB Hard drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144701 $110

Power Supply- Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W Power Supply
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103932 $100

And this case is supposed to make it really easy to install everything and it is very cool.
Lian Li PC-61 USB Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811112025 $110

Total: Around $1775 with the Geforce 7900

Or $1600 with the Radeon x1900xt

Or subtract $200 from both totals if you were to get the 250 gb hard drive.

hmmm..... what kinda processor od you have .. right now ?? if you wanted to you could keep it and get a new mobo gfx card case and such .. i mean you prolly can save some of those parts ..... becasue in like 1-2 years if you save you can build a new comp becasue stuff is going to be crazy .. PPU are on thier way .....

If he can afford the multicore CPU, then he'd be stupid not to get it.

yeah but arnt they working on quad core .. i thought i read taht in pcworld?? you dont think/ Know if they will be out in 2 years ??
