7800gt-- memory overclocking limits?

What have you guys gotten your memory to without any problems? My stock speeds are 400mhz/1gb. I cannot overclock my core clock past 434 for some reason, but i have my memory on 1.15. Would it be safe or wise to increase it to 1.2 for good? What are your experiences on the matter?

just keep going up at 5 intervels, each time test for artifacts if there are artifacts drop it back a bit.

I upped it to 1.2, and FEAR just flat out went dead. I dropped it back down.

Just overclock until you see artifacts.

Sounds like you are in a situation similar to what I am in. I can't go past 430/1050 without getting artifacts. Most eVGA 7800GTs are good overclockers, but some of the other brands are duds...yours might not happen to be a Leadtek, would it?

most people get like 520 1200 at least... it's always good to drop it back a few notches though

Thats on an eVGA. The other brands aren't so friendly to overclocking. Thats also why from now on I will ONLY buy eVGA cards.

ah, my mistake. I read reviews on newegg, and people were saying they got it pretty high. Maybe I'm mistaken... Who knows, I don't even own one.
