Help CPU and GPU

OK I planing to get Althon X2 4800+ and ATI Radeon X1900XT

So I have a little diffacalty to deside to get them or get some thing little cheaper.. atlist one of them.

Here is what I plan
get Althon X2 4400+(save some money)
or go head and get Althon X2 4800+

And about GPU....
Get ATI Radeon X1900XT
or get some thing cheaper... like Geforce 7800 GT which is like 300$

About CPU I think will this 4800 differ much from 4400.. and will that 4800 have biger time before update.

And about GPU..
If I get ATI Radeon X1900XT will it last long. and also I worry if DirectX 10 comes out... Will it requare newer cards.

That's a good idea.

You see, your Athlon 64 x2 4400+ can actually be overclocked to an 4800+. Same with your X1900XT, if you buy an OEM, you can get it for $549 and then OC it to the X1900XTX with only a small OC of 100mhz or so. That can save you around $250-300 total too.

No, I have my opteron 165 overclocked 950MHz on air cooling.

Oh no, you definetly wont need water cooling for that, you'll probably be able to reach that on stock cooling, if not a Zalman CNPS9500 will allow you to easily reach that, another thing you could do is for now just buy a eVGA 6800GS and wait until the 7900 comes out and buy one of those.

Yea, that's what everyone is hoping for. Personally, I think Nvidia is behind on their G71 and G80's.

Nvidia is pretty much on spot with their Date of Releases. The 7900GTX is probably coming out in March.
