COMPAQ PRESARIO pls help!!

Hi everybody,
I have Notebook Compaq Presario, I had just installed Win XP on it, but the problem is when I closed the monitor in order to save energy, the system goes standby and all activity such as winamp and other shut down automatically.

How to make it still active though the monitor closed???

you should check the following
1) Open Properties Dialog Box
2) Click on Scrrensaver TAB
3) Click on Power Button (On the screen of the dialog box)
4) Check and be sure that the System Standby time should be NEVER
5) Oh yes and if you turn off the monitor. Your winamp and songs will run okay but your monitor will be turned off instead of whole standby

*NOte* - as observed on all PC's monitors consume upto 75% of the total power of PC's
