Add and Remove programs menu

On the Add and Remove programs menu in XP - what can I do to remove all the old entries of programs that are no longer on my computer. When I try to "remove" them it often says there is no .ini file or some other error message. I have already searched the registry add deleted all related entries that I could find but to no avail...

Any suggestions??
