I am going to HAVE to say that this person is under 21 (the fact that they registered with the name 'helpmebuildapc' supports this), and probably will not be building this PC.... If you are SERIOUSLY considering this setup, I appologize for my previous comment. Since you DO seem to be fairly unfamiliar with computer technology, I would suggest at LEAST a month of reading product reviews, and past articles at:

That reading is ESSENTIAL if you are looking at such expensive components, but want to save as much money as you can at the same time.


Also, there is no point in going Crossfire (or SLI if it's nVidia) if you are using a single monitor. They really only benefit multi-monitor setup's.

ok well i just finished watching a movie, seems like thers been a lot of replies since I left. umm ok my budget is not in stone, but i was thinking around $5000 or so. ok so i see that you all think the power supply is bad. please dont mind me asking, but why would it be so bad? like i said i am trying to save money whereever i can because as you probably noticed, this is pretty expensive. i liked it because its cheap, lots of power, it looks cool and it has 4 eggs. is there anything that makes it THAT bad? i mean if you really think i should spend practically 5x the price and get another one i guess i will, but is really needed? im not so sure il be overclocking, but i donno, i might. dont no really anything about it. what is the real difference between that ram? i mean double the price just seems like a big jump and it has basicly very similar specs as the cheaper ram. ok ok, so is this power supply good:

thats still pretty **** expensive, and i woudl probably need 2 of them because i have more than 150gb. and i have no idea whats a good case, please find one for me. and i will be getting that dfi main board somebody posted here earlier. for the sound card i need to get at least the fata1ity because it is the first one with the X-RAM.

hehe lecturing someone about not knowing something then making a statement like this. SLI dont support mutiple monitors(they might of added support in the newist driver) and I am not sure about cross fire. either way neither are ment for muti-monitors.

I would recommend that you wait until March for Nvidia's 7900 series cards. They are supposed to be f*in awsome and will eat X1900 cards for breakfast. If you do you will need an SLI motherboard, which are much more common than Crossfire ones.

Dude, you have thousands of dollars of hardware in that PC. You need a very powerful PSU to give adequate power to those, as well as being reliable. That PC P&C PSU would be optimal, but you could probably go with a 'slightly' lighter PSU from a very reliable company, such as the OCZ suggested above.

That PSU you suggested looks like a disaster waiting to happen. I wouldn't suggest that even for a budget build. And I cannot see how you are complaining about the price of the Raptor HDs when you are buying two X1900's in Crossfire and a FX-60. You really need to do some more research and learn more about PC hardware before you go through with such an expensive build.

umm ok no im not. the reason i came here is bcuz i dont no wut good parts are. ok and to that guy that posted what i should get, yes thats in my budget, but i still am gonna go with the fx60 for a couple of reasons. first the x1900xtx i looked at the specs of it and its faster than the x1900 cross fire version, and i read somewhre that when u have crossfire it only goes as fast as the slower card. so the xtx is a waste i think. so i will get the the xt, and then i will have even more money left over, so i will easily be able to fit the fx60 in my budget. and also, wouldnt two of them 150 gig raptor hard drives be better bcuz they are both 100000rpm? i could also squeeze two of them in the budget, so if i can afford them and they would be faster, y not? thnks for helping me
