What is BTX?

Hello guys, i always see like P4 3.2GHz BTX or P4 3.2GHz. And that BTX processor is more exp than non-BTX. What is the different and what is BTX?

BTX Specifies the Format of the Case and Motherboard, in the simpliest terms the Motherboard is basically turned upside down to allow the processor to Be lower in the case and thus being cooler.

AMD doesn't support BTX.

BTX is oposite of ATX.

BTX is Intel's attempt to make everyone have to buy their stuff.

The idea is good, and it actually works. But to use it, you would have to buy a new mobo, new case, and new cooling system.

And, like Ste said, AMD doesn't do BTX.

Then how come BTX processor more exp to non-BTX? Then which one is better ? Is it have to fix with your casing ?

i bought a new casing and that's iCute, model is 0509ULA-BB( http://www.casepower.com.tw/english/ArticleShow.asp?ArticleID=286 ) . And is it ATX or BTX?

The one you have bought is ATX/Micro ATX. Those two form factors will fit in your case.

So that means BTX got their own BTX case and ATX got their own ATX case just like mine ?

I read you can still use ATX parts in a BTX xase, all you have to do is put the motherboard upside down or something.

That wouldn't work. Since the PCI slots are now at the top of the board and the periphial connectors are at the bottom the opening on the back of the case wouldn't fit. You can get cases that support both ATX/BTX so whichever one you want you can get.
