T Techdummy Solid State Member Messages 10 Mar 7, 2004 #1 My compaq this morning wont power on, no lights or anything when plugged in. Even the battery wont turn it on.. Is this a bad power supply? Or possibly just the cord went bad? As you see in my nick Im not a computer genius.. Thanks for any help

C cajun33 In Runtime Messages 185 Mar 7, 2004 #2 Probably a bad power supply. You can check it with a voltmeter, but that will cost you about as much as a new power supply. Was there any loud noises or smoke prior to your computer not working?
