is it possible to view a esktop PC on laptop monitor?

Ok, my brother got a new desktop, and i took his old one and want to format it and use it. But i do not have an extra monitor and dont plan on buying one. I want to know if it is possible to view that desktop on my laptop? I know I can view my laptop to an external monitor, but does it work the other way around, viewing the desktop on my laptop monitor? I hope that makes sense, any help appreciated.

no, unless you have video-in plug.

you can get a moniter/mouse/keyboard splitter and share the one moniter/mouse/keyboard with the 2 comps. Thay are like 20 bucks...
