Yea, or you could upgrade to Socket AM2, prices of the motherboards are expected to only be $10 more, and buy paying that extra $10 you are gauranteed your system is future proof for at least 2-3 years. Socket 939 will be phased out by next summer. Looking at Intel's 9xx series CPU's, and seeing that they are only a few dollars more than their 8xx series CPU's, I'd estimate that AMD's Socket AM2 CPU's shouldn't be that much more expensive then their predecessors.

thanx that is some good info to know. I am going to get a goos case with my money since i will be waiting for ythe am2's. I would buy some ram too but doesn anybody know if the am2's will be using pc3200 ramm or will ti be a new kind of ram?

ok since verybody has told me to buy another 512 stick of ram for my rig, I am going to do that. Probaly either the ocz value seris or the g.skill value seris:

Next since i am oging to buy either a sokcet 939 or an AM2 mobo later in the summer i need a case that supports full size atx mobo's. My case nwo is cheap and only supports micro ATx mobos. I am either going to get the antec super lanboy, the antec SLk300 or the rosewill one:

This is all in my budget and this way everything i am buying now i can use towards my rig later on in the summer.

IMHO I think that you can't go wrong with a motherboard or ram. I Think a mother board will probally be better because you'll always find a good deal on ram later in the year

ya but i am going to wait on that until the summer for 2 reasons.

1: in the summer the newer AM2 socket will be out so the 939's will drop o i cab gt ti cheaper, also i might want to get a socket m2 motherboard. so by not buying the mobo no i can keep my options open.

2: Also i have an agp videocard right now. If i buy a motherboard it would have to have an agp slot. Later i want to upgrade to pci express though so i don't want to be stuck in upgrading by buying things too soon.
