If your on a PC, you have XP and Linux.
If your on a Mac, you have OSX and Linux.
There is a virtual PC emulator Macs can use to run any Windows program, except for those that require video card intensive programs.
There are probably some Mac emulators for PC's too, but none of that are officially retailed I believe.
OSX tends to have much better security and a more organized and intuitive OS, while XP tends to have worse security but has a wide audience of programs and games.
