Yor are right-they can sell these cards at lower prices. But it is important to remember that not very many people actually buy computer parts to upgrade. Because the sales are low volume the companies raise the price to make more mony.
but if you lower the price, the sales rise, so your profit rises too... plus you dominate the market because people will go for your card than other expensive ones that are same performance.
