ok I'm a bit confused, I've been looking at the MSI 6800GTs and 7800GTX's on Newegg.com and I dont see any difference whatsoever in the cards, and in some instances the 6800's have 512MB of GDDR3 RAM and 25MhZ more than the 7800GTX's...

Can someone help me out here? Are 7800GTX's better than the 6800GT's or is there no difference?

---Thanks---

512MB will show no improvment over 256MB cards yet (except in games that have a ton of high resoultion textures like Doom 3 and Quake 4).

The 7800GT has 20 pixel pipelines with each running at 4xx mhz default stock, where as the 6800GT has only 16 pipelines running at 350mhz or something. Do you mean the 6800GS? because that only has 12 pipelines but since it is clocked higher then the 16 pipes that the 6800 GT uses it performs almost the same for 100 bucks cheaper. Im guessing you mean the GS because I don't think they have 6800 GTs that are clocked above 400mhz.

The 7800GT performs much better then the 6800GT so if you have the money get the 7800GT, you also get the extras from the geForce 7 series like transparent anti-aliasing

Question: At what clock speeds does the 6800GS begin to become equal to or beat a 6800gt or a 6800ultra?

Default speed is 425/1000 for most brands, so I'm guessing that OC'd at 485/1100 or so it beats a 6800gt?
