It's fairly new

The GX 260 is pretty new. Being on the IT staff has it's percs I suppose. Every time we get something new in, we make sure to over order just a little...

The GX 260 is what our corporation is distributing as new work PCs right now to it's employees. Prior to this we were getting the 1.7 Ghz Compaq EVO D510 Small Form Factor PC. It too is quite a performer.

Both of these however are space-saver computers and not very expandable, but I don't do any more than simple web editing, forum administering, and MS office type stuff anyway.

Can you get RDRAM with the new HT P4's?

Most boards with the Intel 850E chipset support HT CPUs including the Asus P4T533 that supports 32 bit RDRAM.

All Intel chipsets for the socket 478 northwood processors (except the plain 845 but it is a SDRAM chipset) support HT CPUs, but some boards may need a BIOS flash to enable it. I don't think the VIA and SIS chipsets support it.
I do know my Soyo P4S Dragon Ultra (SIS 645 chipset) does not support it, the max supported CPU is the P4 2.8B

This was copied from Intel's web site:

Intel desktop chipsets that are currently optimized to support Hyper-Threading Technology include:

The Intel® 850E chipset with PC1066 RDRAM memory support offers high performance and dual channel RDRAM support.

The Intel® 845GE chipset delivers the ultimate in flexibility, with enhanced Intel® Extreme Graphics, DDR333/266 memory, and AGP upgradeability.

The Intel® 845PE chipset features robust DDR333/266 memory support and discrete AGP graphics for both mainstream and performance users.

The Intel® 845GV chipset enables aggressive system price points with Intel® Extreme Graphics.

The Intel® 845G chipset** offers the available bandwidth of DDR266MHz main memory, coupled with a 533MHz or 400MHz system bus and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity for top performance.

The Intel® 845E chipset supports the latest AGP graphics cards, and high-bandwidth DDR200/266 SDRAM memory technology.

This list does not include the new E7205 that supports duel channel DDR266/333 memory
