I recently bought a new computer. Its a Dell and I know many don't like Dell for prices but thats what I went with. I was wondering what was the good advantages and bad advantages about my computer. I got it for gaming since my old pc is out of date.

Pentium D 930 Dual Core Technology (3GHz, 800FSB)
1GB RAM (667MHz)
80GB HD
256MB nVidia 6800
Sound Blaster w/ surround sound and woofer
17 inch digital monitor

as far as the vid card goes this is all i know:
256MB PCI Express x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) nVidia GeForce 6800

and would you please elaborate on Intel being bad..i've been hearing that a lot lately but no one has explained why exactly

They cant perform nearly as well as AMD's X2 in gaming, even though they have the lower Ghz speed they manage to just destroy intel processors in gaming.

ok...i plan on playing Call of Duty 2 and Battlefield 2 with this. Would i be able to play them on high settings with good fps? And i also heard that the dual core wasn't good for gaming also..is this true?

dual core isnt good for gaming ? thats false for sure

the highest end computers out there are armed with AMD 4800+ X2's

and your 6800 vanilla should be ok for cod2 and bf2 but dont go any higher than 1280 x 1024

also the settings should be fine at medium to high

Dual core is good for gaming. I don't think you will be able play the new games on all high settings because of your video card and your RAM.
