u can buy a amd 2900+ and a mobo for jsut $125 at newegg.com i wouldn't pay more then probably 350-450 for that computer a nice crt (got mine for 100) jsut have to look for deals.

My dads friend wants me to make him a computer. Since i am in the midst of building one for myself. I was thinking of cleaning mine up and selling it.

Said make him a computer didn't mean buy one used or off a self of anykind. I am sure if he wanted one already built he would have gone and got one already.

an old refurbished system with pentium 3 would run great with office/word 2000.

i haven an idea then, ill make up a list o the refurbished comp, and a one all new that i can make for 600. and see which he perfers.

600 isnt enough when you need a printer/monitor/keyboard/mouse/os.

best i could do was 900.00 for a new computer with all the extra's.

guess ill have to tell him to buy a dell.
