First AMD system and i dont know much about them. Which would be better?

The Opteron is cheaper too!!!! Which would be better for overclocking and not overclocking?

I'd say that the 4400 is better, with everthing stock because of the extra 200MHz. Both are good for overclocking. For overclocking, i'd go with the opty because of the price. They should both reach about the same speeds if overclocked right.

the opti's overclock far better on the whole so if u wanna overclock then its the way to go. if ur not gonna overclock then the X2 4400+ is faster but im not sure that the speed justifies the price

People keep saying that opti's oc more but really a X2 can oc to about the same level except that it is more expensive so if you are going to oc the opteron is better because it is cheaper.
