Newegg finally takes the lead on the Opteron 165. It was $355 for retail recently, but now they've dropped it all the way down to $325. This beats ZipZoomFly's current price (which has been the best for a while) of $328.50. So, this is just a note for those who will soon be purchasing an Opteron 165 (since they're so popular) that it's finally viable to buy it from Newegg.

And I found this funny... the OEM version is now $10 more . I guess they haven't got a chance to update it yet.

Ah yes very true. But I'm going to go with Newegg whenever I can finally order my parts because everything but the CPU was going to be from Newegg. Nice to have it all in one order.

What? Dude.. AMD opteron has DUAL cores, so therefore 1.8x2=2.6GHz, that is better than the 4000 stock, and cheaper i believe. But if you decide to OC, you will get it much, much higher than overclocking a 4000.

Correct me if i am wrong.

im talking gaming (see my first post /\/\) and the last time i checked games didnt utilizes duals at all right?

ok you guys got it wrong. 1.8 is still 1.8 on a dual core, and a few games do utilize duals. finally, opteron is better for it's ocing capability

idk how to OC but it seems like an area of huuuge potential and money saving/system stretching.
