NEED A NOTHER OPINION

Ok Well I am ovi a newbe when it comes to overclocking so here it goes

I have a

ASUS P4PE Motherboard
Intel NorthWood P4 2.0GHz i845PE Chipset @ 533MHz
1 GB DDR PC 2700 Ram 2x512
450Watt P/S
Sapphire Radeon 9250 128Mb Video @ 4X mode

My Current settings are

FROM CPU-Z
Core Speed - 2004.5 MHz
Multiplier X 20.0
FSB 100.2MHz
Bus Speed 400.9MHz

MY TEMPS ARE
LOW 39-42C
HIGH 49-54C

What do you guys think
THANKS ALOT

is that your current OC? cause if it isnt your load temps are a tad high to OC but you should be able to do a small one like increase FSB to 105-110, 120+ with better cooling & what sort of RAM do you have? like brand or generic etc

ok well after reading and reading I am now @

2.6GHz
LOL

I raised my FSB to 130 and my v core 2 1.60
one q I have is I am not able to change my multiplier is that ok?

I am now at an idle temp of 44c
Any thoughts

ANYONE?

I ran a cpu stability test and it came out fine but read last!
my overall farting around in IE temp is 46c but under load with battlefield 2 my temps are around 57-59

You jumped 600 Mhz AND raised ur voltage and your load temps only went up 5 degrees?? I doubt that, how are you finding your load temps?

You should download prime95 or sandralite 2005 and do a burn-in/torture test and watch your temperatures while its running...cuz if you're using alt-tab, it'll cool a good 10-15 degrees C in the time it takes to go back to the windows screen.

ok

I ran the burn- in wizard from sandralite 2005 lite like you suggested and this is what I came up with

I am using ASUS PC PROBE for my temps and also tried
Everest Unlimited Edition v 2.5

I ran the test twice
Original temps @ 2.0 GHz
LOW 39-42C
HIGH 49-54C

New temps @ 2.6 GHz
LOW 44-46C
High 59-61C

Now please keep in mind that I am using fans only and I have 6 including P/S
2 fans intake the rest outake

anyone see a problem

If your serious about overclocking get a after market heatsink to cool your processor. Zalman is a fantastic brand, I reccomend the one i use...in sig. You will be able to overclock on stock cooling but just not very much......

I Have been running now at 2.6 GHz since orig post so I think I am ok I will still be getting a better fan tho
