Video problems

I have a gateway 300s computer and I was having problems with my integrated video card- It would shut down my computer when I was in a game or entering a game. I recently bought a new Jaton nvidia 228PCI video card and I am still having the same problems. Any suggestions would be greatful.

Did you disable the onboard video when you installed the nvidia card?

Yes, if i did it correctly, I went to the BIOS screen and choose the video adapter to be PCI and then saved the settings.

Do you think it may have something to do with the computer overheating?

yes its possible .How long have you had it ? Have you cleaned the dust out lately ?How to clean a Computer

I have had it for about a year and a half now.
