well I dont have them, but my schools computers do. they don't use much power, but I'm not to shure about the heat, my guess would be little so it would not damage the computer.

It would use minimal power. The one at the bottom of the page is the only one i could pull up the specs page for. They have a molex connector like the hard drive connectors. That one is "safe and gives off no heat."
Which ones are you comparing?
 
yea, i am comparing the top and bottom ones, as they are flexible. apparently you can cut up the bottom one, and re use the cutoff bits.

and basically, i want some blue glow coming from the back, onto the wall, and coming out of the HDD vents at the bottom at the front, and the hole thing with the fan in.


are either of them like the flourescant cathodes that convert the 12v into several thousand v? i think they use much more power than the regular cold cathodes.
