GeForce 7900, 7800 GS Launch Dates

New G71 and G70 components on the way

Xbitlabs and Digitimes are reporting that NVIDIA plans to launch the GeForce 7900 PCIe graphics cards during Cebit 2006.

Next week NVIDIA plans to launch the GeForce 7800GS AGP series cards. Manufacturers tell us there will be immediate retail availability of the card at launch. GeForce 7800GS is a 16-pipe version of the G70 ASIC used in GeForce 7800GT and 7800GTX.

7800 GS AGP. A light for those 55% of the market who still have AGP.

hmm cool. guess I won't have to upgrade just quite yet! I wonder how much better it is than the 6800GT and if it creates stuttering with the nForce 3 chipset.

From hexus.net:

Seems that core NVIDIA partners are set to inject a healthy dose of ‘customer centric’ love into those of us still running AGP mainboards with the introduction of an AGP 8x variant of its GeForce 7800GS.

The AGP variant of the NVIDIA GeForce 7800GS seems set to feature a core GPU frequency of 350MHz, a frequency dictated by the fact that itÂ’s, unsurprisingly, a PCIe to AGP bridged design.

However, despite this the forthcoming NVIDIA GeForce 7800GS AGP is believed to bring more grunt to your gaming than last years GeForce 6800 Ultra AGP, and we think NVIDIA and its partners should be commended for giving its customers the choice of another upgrade path, which is very likely giving a large part of the market just what it wants.

Expect the adrenalin to start with premier NVIDIA partners - eVGA and XFX Graphics on the 2nd February 2006.
