New Cpu

Looking to upgrade my cpu.
Im currently running a Northwood 3ghz 512 l2

Just wondering what i should get.

This

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+

or this

P4 3.40GHz 800MHz 1M

just looking for the best performance increase

and if the amd is the way to go, could you also recommend the best motherboard to get along with it. must be Agp and support 4 512 sticks of this G.Skill

Go dual core.....its Worth every penny and you do stuff you never though possible...My freind can minimize Doom3, Turn Itunes on, Check his Email, and Scan for spywre...its the ****...and as for a motherboard I cant help you in that department......but yeah why 4 512 sticks? looks like your planning to overclock..
