Why is this CPU not used more?

P.P. Mguire, that's my thinking too. I think I would rather just spend a little extra money and get a DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra-D and an Opteron 165 w/ a Thermaltake Big Tyhpoon. That would be a sweet setup.

I just looked at your setup. Going to a 165 from a 3700+ would be a big difference and having DC ram instead of going from a 3700+ to a 4000+ lol.

How high are most of the 165 clocks getting now? I would like to get up to 2.6 on air if possible. I know some of the early steppings were getting high, but I haven't seen the recent results.

It would be pretty hard to find one that DIDNT do 2.6GHz on air.
