Yo, at the same time as i am getting my parts to build my first computer, my sister is going to get a laptop. She wants this laptop that comes with a printer and digital camara. I dont know what brands of laptops are good. So lemme know what you think? maybe cheaper to buy everything seperate?

I would make a custom ASUS laptop.

thats not a bad laptop. she may want to upgrade to 1 gb of ram...but that can be done anytime, usually pretty easily.

It's a nice laptop, but right now I'm using a similar one that was loaned to me, and the battery life ABSOLUTELY SUCKS. I can suck the battery dry in less than an hour. Also, the Mobile Athlon 64 runs very, very hot.

I'd suggest something with a Turion 64 or Pentium M.

The laptop itself is pretty good, but I agree with macdude that it's not very mobile. I think you can get ~2 hours of battery life from it if you're not using the optical drive. If you are it's often less than half of that.
The printer and camera are nice additions. They more basic units (They retail for $79 and $149 respectively) but if that's all you're looking for they should get the job done.

I rarely, if ever, use the optical drive, and I'm lucky to get an hour and fifteen minutes out of the battery.

my mom got a dell and usualy id advise against dell but it was sweet. Xps. Plays games. Doesnt have very good battery life though
