Ok, first of all, I currently have one of these:
I have a mouse, keyboard, speakers, cd rom drive/burner, and my friend's old video card.
I want a new comp primarily just to speed up my life. I plan on playing a little Counter-Strike and eventually upgrading video card to play the higher end games but right now I just want a kickass fast comp.
Hard drive: I don't use a lot of space and just want a fast machine. I have an old 20GB that I can use as my "****" drive but want a faster one to put important programs on. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144200
CPU: Again, I just want a fast comp, and will upgrade vid card later for higher performance gaming.

Mobo: I really don't know what to put with the AMD 3700. Any help?
Power Source: I don't really understand what the difference is between this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817147006 and this : http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817708001
Any help for the newb would be greatly appreciated.
Memory: I guess dual channel is better? What should I look at for a very fast comp?
Case: I don't care one bit what it looks like, in fact I would prefer it to be as simple as possible (so as to not scream "steal me!"). I don't want to spend more than $100 here. I'll probably just grab one with a top-fan at the local computer shop.
Monitor: I have a 15" so something a little bigger would be nice. This is not a big issue. Any suggestions? I plan on playing some nice games in the future, so I guess that is a factor.
Sorry for the lack of anything concrete, but I'm a bit new to this. Also I want to spend every penny of my $1000 and can possibly go a little over. Thnx.
