I was messing around with Lexar JumpDrive Secure software.. I made a secured drive that is hidden when not in use. I ended up deleting and setting down the public area to the max allowed by the drive.. well, now it's only displaying 1.86GB when before it would display 1.96GB (unless my mind is playing games with me).

What should a 2GB drive be recognized in Windows? 1.86GB or 1.96GB? If it is 1.96GB, then how do I go about reclaiming it when all I see is 1.86GB when I connect the drive?

Windows sees 1 GB as 1000 MB's, when it should be 1024 MB.

So there, do the math.

Im sure you could format the Drive, maybe the correct amount will show up then.

I did format. I'm afraid that it may just be looking at the "public" space and not the hidden space when doing so.

Ste you got it the wrong way round. That would make the drive bigger. The HDD manufacturers create drives that 1gb = 1000mb's and windows reads it as 1024.

Windows setup should display all the drives avaliable. In Device manager (?) it will also display correct size.
